Track Feeders

Track feeders on the EMRA layout. This is hidden track, which is why there is a hardboard "fence" along the roadbed. The two red wires are the #12 solid feeder wires which parallel each section of track, and are conected to the track with the #18 solid wires (white and red). Since the tap is not insulated, it is necessary to keep the heavy wires spaced - this is done with an invention by one of our members - the white block to the right. It is a rectangular piece of plywood (3/8" thick, but not critical), with two slots on the side cut at angles. The wires are laid on top of the joist, the block placed between them, slid down until the wires are held firmly, then screwed to the joist.
